Press Release.

At the beginning of this year unsigned Midlands MC Alex Blood made some serious ripples in the UK Hip Hop pond by releasing his debut single What Is Your Name. The track, produced by Diveno “ The Mastermind” and featuring Rukus (of Let It Go success), enjoyed significant airplay on numerous stations including BBC Radio 1xtra and Itch FM, becoming single of the week on 1xtra, whilst the video could be seen on MTV Base and Channel U.

Looking to build on the success of What Is Your Name,Blood follows up with another big, anthemesque banger that will catch the ear of underground and mainstream Hip-Hoppers alike: Game Over.

Game Over carries the trademark quality of the Soul Alliance’s output; Blood’s solid, punchy flow comes double-time over bass-heavy Diveno ’s big cymbals and wailing fanfare, causing much head-nodding and foot-tapping in the audio suite during playback.

Lyrically, Blood’s strong delivery supports a defiant theme of promoting professionalism and positivity in the Hip Hop game, as his ‘take no prisoners’ swagger leaves us in no doubt where he is heading: the strength of Game Over is set to push Blood another step up the Hip Hop ladder.

Alex Blood is a well-established Derby-based rhymer, now making significant noise on the national stage. His past accomplishments include 2002’s Blood & Jonez EP Spare A Little Change, the Deprogrammed compilation album Friends of the Family in 2003, and the Alex Blood EP and victory in Ras Kwame’s (1xtra) Homegrown Cuts competition in 2004.

2005 saw Blood teaming up with ‘Big Daddy’ Hudson (father of the Off The Hook mixtape series) for the Blood Makes Noise mixtape, which achieved critical acclaim in Mike Lewis’s (HHC) Homestyle UK Gold Top Ten.

The Soul Alliance has been recently formed as a partnership combining Blood’s talents with those of the ‘Bass Heavy’ Greek mastermind Diveno. Game Over is the second track to be released from that partnership, coinciding with the official launch of the new Alex Blood mixtape The Preface. Blood is soon to embark on a national tour alongside well established DJ BFG (of Mudlums notoriety) and protégé MC Swift ’89.
