I'm DJ BFG, a.k.a. Gabby Squailia, and I've been spinning professionally for over 20 years. I got my start in New York City, during the first year of Scratch DJ Academy's top-notch DJ training program. I soon began a weekly residency at Fatty's Cafe in Astoria, where I got my name. (BFG once stood for Big Fat Gabby, though it's morphed through the years into Beats For Geeks and my personal favorite, Booty-Focused Grooves.) I perform for arts organizations, wedding receptions, dance residencies, and private parties all over the Northeast.
Seamless transitions are my specialty, and I'm a consummate crowd-reader with a solid handle on groups of diverse ages and backgrounds. My taste in music is eclectic and upbeat, and I prefer to blend genres while keeping the groove in the pocket. Most of my clients are passionate about music, and there’s nothing I love working with more than a deep playlist of favorites.
Most of my gigs are in Berkshire County, the Hudson Valley, and surrounding areas, but I regularly travel from Vermont to Connecticut, and I'm always happy to visit new places.
As a member of the queer community, I bring joy and the familiarity of lived experience to pride events and LGBTQ+ celebrations of all kinds. My pronouns are she/her.
